The Price to Pay BY IAN HORNBY opens Next WEEK – Get your Tickets Now !
If you have already booked
for next week's production, apologies for this reminder. If not, then read on. The
play is a thriller by Nick Hornby called THE
PRICE TO PAY and directed by Graham Hough. Opening night is Tuesday 10th March running to
Saturday 14th March. Graham says this about the play " Roger and
Laura are just an ordinary married couple. Why then do a man and a woman,
posing as police, kidnap Laura and keep her captive in a run-down farmhouse?
After all, Roger has no money. The plot unfurls and we share Roger`s and Laura`s
private agonies and uncertainties. The police are called, but their motives do
not always seem in Laura`s best interests. It is left to Laura and Roger to
effect the final solution, but there is a price to pay, and their lives will
never be the same again."
Tickets at £9.00 each are
available online via http://www.danarts.org/events/davenham-players--the-price-to-pay/ or by phone on 01606

THURSDAY 26TH March -
JAZZ @ DAVENHAM – Rachael Cohen Quartet
On Thursday 26th
March, Jazz@Davenham is pleased to present the RACHAEL COHEN QUARTET.
Rachael Cohen, a London-based alto saxophonist and composer, is one of the
brightest emerging stars of her generation. Her infectious tone mixed with her
uncanny lyricism as both a composer and improviser have gained her a great deal
of attention in the UK and beyond. Cohen’s quartet features long-time associate
James Bashford on drums, bassist Calum Gourlay & special guest Phil Robson
on guitar, one of the UK’s most celebrated musicians. Her album
"Halftime" showcases a full program of nine strikingly original
compositions from the leader and a cover from the iconic Ornette Coleman titled
‘Just for You'. It has received multiple accolades in the press including a 4
Star review from Jazzwise & MOJO Magazine.
Tickets can be booked
by email or by phoning Harry on
01606 74502 or Dave on 01606 44253. Click here to see the Jazz page on the Davenham blog. Booking is strongly recommended for both gigs. Doors
and Bar open at 7:30pm. Music starts at 8:00pm.

Fortunately for us, the
numbers of subscribers to our eMail newsletters is growing. The restrictions applied
by ISPs (Internet Service Providers) make it more difficult to send the same
eMail to a large number of recipients. As a result, it is quite likely that we
will have to move to using a commercial eMailing service such as MailChimp
quite soon. This should not have any unwanted implications for our subscribers,
but each person will be required to complete a 'Sign Up' process to provide
verification that they wish to receive further newsletters. The Sign Up process
is not difficult and neither does it require personal information to be
disclosed. All you will need to do is to click a link in the Sign Up eMail and
then confirm. We will let you know as and when the move will be made, but if
you have any reservations or questions, please get back to me.
